Homemade Schezwan Chutney |
Spicy Schezwan Sauce is easy to make the hot sauce which can be served as a condiment or used in recipes like Schezwan Fried Rice & Noddles and also goes good with Indian pakora, spring roll, french.
This sauce is quite popular in the Indo-Chinese cuisine and also happens to be one of my favorites.
This Homemade Schezwan Sauce or Szechuan Sauce is an interesting
recipe to make at home. It is one of the most popularly used ingredients in
Chinese cuisine. Instead of settling for store-bought sauce, why not make your
own homemade version of this flavourful Chinese Hot Spicy Sauce? Here is how to
make authentic Chinese Schezwan Sauce.
Ingredients:-
- Red chilies dried 2 bowl
- 3 tsp oil
- 2 tsp ginger chopped
- 2 tsp garlic chopped
- 2 tsp onion chopped
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp tomato ketchup
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 ½ TSP sugar
- Pinch of salt
Method:-
1. firstly, soak dried red chilly
in hot water for 30 minutes or till they turn soft.
2. discard the water and blend to
smooth paste adding water. keep aside.
3. now in a large kadhai, heat oil.
4. sauté in garlic and ginger for 2 minutes.
5. Then add onion
au saute for more 2 minutes.
6. Next, add in the
prepared red chilly paste.
7. saute for 2
minutes, so that chilly gets cooked well.
8. now add ¼ cup
water and adjust consistency.
9. cover and
simmer for 15 minutes.
10. make sure to
cook the sauce till oil floats on top.
11. Then add in ½
tsp pepper, 2 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce, sugar and
salt to taste.
12. mix well
making sure everything is combined well.
13. finally, serve Schezwan sauce as a dip with
chips or fries or you can add it to your favorite dish.
Notes:-
You can store this for 15 days in the fridge.
