3 Easiest Rainy Season Snacks
Stuck inside one a rainy day? Brighten your mood and give your taste buds all the cozy feels with these delicious and easy recipes.It’s been pretty rainy here in India, like we can’t complain, we need the rain after such hot summer. All the rain and thunderstorms means I’ve been spending a lot of time inside my house which gives a perfect excuse to make my favorite rainy recipes.
There nothing better than couch, good movie and a plate of favorite snack,what else do you need!!
These 3 recipes are some of my favorite snacks. Not only they make your Kitchen-smell amazing,but they will give your tummy full satisfaction.
Some of us may experience mild mood change during colder, less sun filled rainy days due to moderate change in brain chemistry . Experts says how fried, fatty foods have good impact on mood as well

1. BANG BANG BATATA

A quick and crispy potato recipe, with less ingredient
• Recipe serving: 2
• Preparation time: 20 min
• Cook time : 10 min
• Total time : 30 min
• Difficulty level: super easy
Ingredients :-
• 200 gms of baby potatoes (can add big and cut into pieces)• Salt
• ¼ tsp sugar
• ½ tsp red chilly powder
• 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
• 1 tsp of semolina (sooji)
• ½ tap of coriander powder
• 1 ½ tsp oil
• 2-3 green chilly finely chopped
• 1 ½ tsp garlic finely chopped
Making methods :-
1. Boil the potatoes till the tender and then cool and peel them2. Take a bowl and mix salt(as per taste),sugar, chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and semolina together, coat the potatoes Well with the mixture
3. Heat the oil on pan An add green chili and garlic ,saute for 20 second.
4. Then add the spiced potatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes in low heat
5. Keep tossing and after the semolina is crisp and potato turned brown turnoff the flame.
6. Serve hot with chat masala and few drop of lemone juice.
2. MOONGDAL SAMOSA

• Preparation time : 10 min
• Cook time: 30 min
• Total time: 40 min
• Difficulty level: Easy
Ingredients :-
For samosa covering
• 2 cups refined flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 tsp vegetable oil
• 1 tsp Nigella seeds( kalonji/kala jeera)
• To knead water
For filling
• 2 ½ cups of green grams (moong dal)
• 2 tsp oil
• 1 tsp cumin seed crushed

• 1 tsp fennel seed crushed
• 1 tsp coriander seed crushed
• Pinch of asafoetida (hing)
• 2 tsp garam masala
• 2 tsp chilly powder
• 1st turmeric powder
• ½ tsp dry mango powder
• 1 tsp chopped cashew nuts
• 1 tsp chopped raisins
Method :-
1. Soaked the green grams overnight or at least 4/5 hours.Then drain the water and set the dal aside2. Heat the pan, on mediums heat add oil to it.once oil get hot add asafoetida and coriander seeds crushed,cumin seeds crushed and fennel seeds crushed cook for a minute
3. Then add chopped cashew and raisins cook for a minute
4. Add the drained moong dal to the pan and give it to a mix
5. Then add all the spices- garam masala,red chilly powder,dry mango powder and turmeric powder,also add salt to taste
6. Mix everything and cook on a low heat for 10 min till dal soften.
7. Dal doesn’t need to super-soft .The filling is ready.
Preparation of dough:
1. To a large bowl add flour,salt and nigella seeds and rub the oil into it.
2. Add water and knead into a stiff dough (the dough should must be stiff).leave for 15 min
3. Shape the dough into small balls and roll the balls into circles ,cut them into half
4. Take one had ,wet the edges and fold straight edge at the centre and join by one to form a cone
5. Fill the cone with stuffing use around 1-2 tsp stuffing and remember not to overfill
6. Seal the end of the cone applying water of the end . Repeat with remain dough
7. Meanwhile heat oil in kadhai/wok on low medium heat. Once the oil hot enough add the prepared samosa carefully into the kadhai
8. Fry the samosa on low heat till golden brown from both side
9. Take it from oil and leave to cool ,add it with tea and enjoy.
3. INSTANT JALEBI

• Preparation time :10 min
• Cooking time :20 min
• Total time:30 min
• Difficulty level: super easy
Ingredients :-
• 1 cup refined flour• 2 tsp curd
• Pinch of salt
• 1/8 tsp turmeric powder for colour (optional)
• ¼ tsp baking soda
For sugar syrup
• 1 cup of sugar
• ½ cup of water
• ½ tsp of cardamom powder
• ¼ tsp of saffron ( optional)
Other ingredients
• Oil to fry
• Almond and pistachios for decoration
Method :-
1. In a mixing bowl mix flour curd then add pinch of salt and turmeric an mix well in a circular direction for three to four minutes2. Now add baking soda and mix it well
3. Now pour the batter in a tomato ketchup bottle carefully (you can use piping bag also)
4. Heat oil in a kadhai in a medium heat
5. Squeeze the bottle and make round spirals with the batter
6. When one side is partly cooked ,turn over the fry to the other side. Fry till the light golden colour
7. Then immediately drop the Jalebi in the warm sugar syrup for 30 sec(1 string consistency)
8. Finally ,serve jalebi in hot,warm or in room temperature add almond and pistachios over it.
For Sugar syrup:
• First take 1 cup sugar and add ½ cup of water .keep stirring on low flame ,so that sugar dissolves,boil the sugar and add saffron and cardamom powder• Cook till one string consistency,then switch off the flame and add ½ tsp of lemon juice lemon helps to avoid crystals sugar syrup and keeps your jalebi crispy.
