Momo that
become the popular north Indian snack which is almost synonyms with Chinese cuisine. These tasty momos are made of all-purpose flour cover and filled with
sautéed veggies or meat.
The stuffing
mainly include garlic, ginger, Schezwan sauce, soya sauce and a lot of
flavored veggies and the outcome is simple tongue-tickling !!
Traditionally
momo is steamed in a bamboo basket, but you can make it on steamer and cooker.
It can easily prepare at home by steaming or frying.
It is the traditional food of Nepal and Tibet. The name 'dim sum' another name of momo, is
called in China.
You will find
a variety of momo with different fillings both vegetarian and meat-based,
different folding techniques steamed and fried.

filling used. I am sharing a simple recipe step by step noodles/Maggie Momo
recipe. It’s a vegan recipe.

INGREDIENTS
FOR
MOMOS:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp oil
- water as required
- 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour for dusting
- cabbage leaf for placing in a tray
FOR STUFFING:
- 2 tsp oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- ½ medium-sized onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup carrot, finely chopped
- ¼ cup cabbage, finely shredded
- 1½ cup water
- 1 packet Maggie masala
- 1 packet Maggie noodles
- ½ tsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp chilly sauce
METHOD
DOUGH RECIPE:
•
firstly, in a large mixing bowl,
take 1 cup of flour, salt, and oil. mix well.
•
further, add water little by little and knead the dough.
•
cover and rest for 50 min.
MAGGI MOMOS STUFFING RECIPE:
firstly, in a large pan heat oil. sauté garlic
and vegetables.
Then,
add water and get to a boil.
now add Maggi masala and noodles.
mix well and cook till
the water is absorbed completely.
now add vinegar, soy sauce, and chilly sauce.
MOMOS PREPARATION RECIPE:
• after 50 min pinch a small ball from the dough and
flatten.
• also dust some flour and start to roll using a rolling
pin.
• now place the prepared stuffing in the center.
• fold into half forming a semi-circle.
• press the edges gently.
• Then, bring together the tip of folded semi-circles
and join them.
• Then, steam momos for 15 minutes.
• finally, serve momos hot with
momo sauce and mayonnaise
Note:
• Boil the pocket as per your
size.
• Don’t roll the dough to thick
or thin, keep it medium
• You can also add stuffing of your choice
• Serve hot.
